Bridging the gap between politics and agri-food

Our services

Who we are

Terry Jones, founder of Chainbridge Associates, is a public affairs professional with over 25 years’ experience in leading trade associations across food and farming. His first career was in agri-food itself, giving him a rare depth of industry insight.

For the past decade, Terry has led the National Farmers’ Union (NFU) through some of the most transformative periods in recent history including Brexit, Covid-19, conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East, and major tax and regulatory changes. He has worked closely with UK Government departments and their agencies that shape food and farming policy.

Terry also served as Industry Co-Chair of the Food & Drink Sector Council, a formal partnership between industry and government aimed at building a more productive and sustainable food and drink sector. In addition, he chaired NFU Commercial Holdings Ltd, a group of professional land use and energy consultancy businesses.

Why Chainbridge?

Chainbridge is named after the small Welsh community on the banks of the River Usk in Monmouthshire, where our founder Terry grew up.

A bridge has crossed the Usk at this site since the 16th century - the current iron bridge, dating from 1906, still stands as a symbol of connection, resilience, and progress. Those same values guide everything we do.
